The First Exhibition — Rajshahi Government College, 1977
25 October 1977 — Within months of its founding, Anushandhanee staged its first science exhibition. From a Dainik Barta report of the era.
Within months of its founding, Anushandhanee took on its first major undertaking — a science exhibition.
According to a staff reporter’s piece in Dainik Barta on 25 October 1977, the exhibition was held on the previous Sunday afternoon at 4pm in the auditorium of Rajshahi Government College. The chief guest was Dr. Naimuddin, principal of the college. Dr. Abul Kashem, member of Anushandhanee’s advisory council, presided.
The Director, Founding Organizer, and the Director of the Upo-shahor (sub-city) chapter all spoke. Parents of Anushandhanee’s young members joined a large public audience.
Exhibits, all built by the young members themselves, included: distance meter, rain gauge, anemometer, plant growth meter, fire extinguisher, weighing scale, water purifier, barometer, traffic signal, ice box, water microscope, hay box, periscope, litmus paper, insect collection — and more.
That a months-old organization could mount such a varied display of scientific instruments was no small thing. This was the foundation Anushandhanee was built on — and the start of a path that would carry it through four more decades.
